תחומי עניין וניסיון קליניד"ר יואל לוינסקי מתמקד בתחום המחלות האוטו-אימוניות והאוטו-אינפלמטוריות בילדים. תחום זה כולל מחלות כמו זאבת אדמנתית מערכתית (Systemic lupus erythematosus), דלקת מפרקים אידיופתית של גיל הילדות Juvenile idiopathic arthritis)) לסוגיה השונים, קדחת ים תיכונית משפחתית (FMF) ומחלת PFAPA לצד מחלות רבות נוספות. במקביל לטיפול ומעקב אחר החולים, ד"ר לוינסקי עוסק באופן פעיל במחקר קליני ומעבדתי תוך שיתוף פעולה עם מרכזים נוספים בארץ ובעולם.
