Date: 08.04.19 | Update: 02.06.19

Social Services at Schneider Children’s, headed by Dr. Ofra Aran, marked International Social Workers Day by launching a new page on Schneider’s website containing a broad array of information about patient rights and the activities of social workers in the hospital.

Schneider Children’s treats hundreds of thousands of infants, children and adolescents annually from all over the country, from various sectors and different cultures. Hospitalization and medical follow-up care introduce the sick child and his family to a new reality that demands coping with many changes on a personal, social and family level. Social Services at Schneider Children’s are an integral part of the multidisciplinary team and works in close collaboration with the medical and nursing team in the department. Social workers assist the child and his family to cope with illness and hospitalization, such as a prolonged stay, family crises and patient rights.

The web page includes contact details and information about activities, staffing in departments and clinics, and links to non-profits and other supporting organizations.
