Israel-China Hospitals League

Prof. Joseph Press, Director of Schneider Children’s Medical Center, has been appointed Vice-President of the Israel-China Hospitals League

In March 2017, an agreement of cooperation was signed between the Ministry of Health and the Organization of Hospitals in China. The accord was recently sealed between the organizations, and will serve as the central platform for cooperation between hospitals in both countries. Prof. Rafi Beyar, Director of Rambam Hospital in Haifa will serve as the League President and rotate every two years with Prof. Joseph Press, Vice-President. Mr. Hagai Dror, Head of the Economic Cooperation Authority between Governments, will serve as the Staff Coordinator of the League on behalf of Israel, together with a representative from the government hospital’s division and another from the hospital division of Clalit Health Services.

Schneider Children’s Medical Center maintains close ties with pediatric hospitals around the world through professional exchanges, joint conferences and multicenter research. These activities place the hospital on the cutting edge of medical science and promote the application of the most advanced technologies and treatments in the world. Within this framework, Schneider Children’s frequently hosts pediatric doctors and nurses from China who arrive for various periods for advanced training. 

Prof. Press has been the director of Schneider Children’s since 2008. He is a specialist in pediatrics, rheumatology and emergency medicine. Prof. Press was awarded the title of associate professor in 2002 and full professor in 2006 by the Faculty of Health Sciences at Ben Gurion University of the Negev, and again in 2010 by the Sackler Faculty of Medicine at Tel Aviv University.
