The Child Development and Rehabilitation Institute


The Institute of Child Development and Rehabilitation at Schneider Children’s provides, on an out-patient basis, a broad spectrum of clinical services for infants, children and adolescents with neurological-developmental problems that include physical, cognitive, speech and language impairments and learning disabilities.

Speech and Language Clinic


The Speech and Language Clinic is part of the Institute of Child Development and Rehabilitation, and is staffed by communication technicians who are experienced in working with children. The team works in coordination with Institute staff as well as plastic surgeons at Schneider Children’s.

  • Language, speech and communication therapy in pre-schoolers
  • Evaluation of speech and voice disorders for children with speech impairments due to structure or functional problems of the vocal cords and routing organs
  • Follow-up and treatment of cleft palate: periodic assessments of post-operative speech for children who have undergone plastic surgery repair at Schneider Children’s

Premature and Newborn Infants Follow-Up Clinic


The experienced and multidisciplinary team conducts follow-up of premature and newborn infants who were hospitalized in the Neonatology Department at Schneider Children’s until they reach two and-a-half years of age.

Referrals
Upon the infant’s discharge, parents are given a referral for continued care in the clinic. The clinic also accepts referrals from community physicians, with payment guarantee.

 

 


 

Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Clinic


A national referral center designated by the Ministry of Health, the clinic conducts diagnosis, follow-up and treatment of children who were exposed to alcohol during pregnancy. These children suffer from a variety of developmental, attention, concentration, emotional, behavioral and physiological disorders.
