Dr. Irit Krause Appointed Director of Pediatrics “C”

Dr. Irit Krause, a resident of Ramat Sharon, married with three children, has worked at Schneider Children’s since its inception. Dr. Krause served previously as the Director of the Dialysis Unit and before that as Deputy Director of the Institute of Nephrology. Dr. Krause, a graduate of the medical school at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, completed her residency in pediatrics and her specialization in pediatric nephrology at Schneider Children’s. She serves as senior lecturer at the Sackler School of Medicine at Tel Aviv University and participates in pediatric clinical training. 

The Department of Pediatrics “C” at Schneider Children’s treats a range of medical conditions in children from all over the country, including those awaiting organ transplants and organ recipients. These children are sometimes hospitalized for prolonged periods of time, especially in the initial months following transplant. The staff in the department takes much responsibility in providing the finest medical and nursing care that also encompasses the range of emotional needs of the child and his family.


Prof. Joseph Press, Director of Schneider Children’s, said that “The Management of Schneider Children’s and I congratulate Dr. Irit Krause on her appointment as the new Director of Pediatrics “C”. Dr. Krause has been at the hospital since its inception and I am sure that her personality and skills, alongside years of experience gained in the Institute of Nephrology and treating organ recipients will contribute to her success in her new position. At the same time, the management of Schneider Children’s expresses its deep appreciation to Prof. Yaacov Amir for his many years of service in heading Pediatrics “C”. We are are indebted to him for his dedication and wish him good health and continued success upon his retirement.”
